In 1996, several educators asked, “When the students complete the Certificate of Progress Program, what is the next step in Christian education?” A program of specialization was introduced as an idea by then-Executive Director, E. L. Thomas. The Specialization Education Studies Program (SESP) is the advanced study program administered through the Division of Christian Education Accreditation and Credentials of the Sunday School Publishing Board. Its design is for those participants desiring to focus on a selected area of Christian ministry.
The SESP provides a vibrant Christian education option for those participants who have completed the four phases of the Certificate of Progress Program. Participants in SESP are challenged by a special comprehensive plan. Specialization should be more than a personal choice. Individuals who are interested in the program should spend quality time in prayer before making a final decision to enter the program.
For more information on the training that is available in SESP, please see the Christian Leadership Manual for specific courses and requirements.
It is our prayer that those individuals who have completed the four phases of COPP will take advantage of the Specialization Program.
